An overview of two of the more difficult and often misunderstood aspects of law and motion practice: ex parte applications and motions for summary judgment by Judge Richard K. Sueyoshi, Department 53 and Judge Christopher E. Krueger, Department 54 at Sacramento Superior Court. This presentation will address the purposes and procedures to be followed when making ex parte applications in state court, including the limitations on the Court’s authority to grant relief.
