This class will explore typographical techniques to improve the appearance of legal documents, including briefs, motions, memos, letters, and resumes. The techniques are grounded in Matthew Butterick’s groundbreaking book Typography for Lawyers. The techniques are practical, surprisingly interesting, and occasionally controversial (Is it one or two spaces after a sentence? Is Courier a good choice?).
