WESTLAW: Administrative Decisions & Guidance

Looking for better ways to search Administrative Decisions and Guidance on Westlaw? If so, there is a class for that!

As Administrative Decisions aren’t given traditional editorial enhancements, like headnotes or KeyNumbers, research strategies can be more mysterious, even to the most seasoned researcher. This class aims to provide you with the tools and strategies to find the information you need, faster.

-Learn how to efficiently filter down to Administrative Decisions on Westlaw, along with information on coverage dates, etc.
-Discover how to customize searches based on your needs, for example, we will cover how to limit PERB opinions to a specific source, e.g. the Board, Administrative Judges, or the Court of Appeal.
-Master tricks that allow you to create a list of citing references for a specific Administrative decision (e.g. 41 Cal Comp. Cases 111) so you can see how other Administrative Decisions or court cases have responded to it as authority.

Have another Administrative Law research need? Please let us know, and we can craft a solution to introduce at the class.
