Immigration Law Series: Preparing for an Immigration Court Removal Proceeding (Webinar)
All MCLE courses in the Immigration Law Series are offered jointly with the Sacramento County Bar Association Immigration Law Section.
Join Clinical Professor of Law Blake Nordahl for a basic introduction to immigration court removal proceedings. Mr. Nordahl will discuss immigration court procedures and processes with a focus on asylum applicants for attorneys new to immigration court with a goal of increasing pro bono legal assistance for individuals in removal proceedings. Topics covered will include: (1) How to provide limited representation in immigration court proceedings; (2) Tips for completing the basics of an asylum application packet when providing limited assistance; (3) Differences and additional procedural steps when providing full representation of asylum seeker in immigration court.
Blake Nordahl has served as the Director of the Immigration Law Clinic at McGeorge Law School since 2009. He is a Certified Specialist in Immigration Law. He is the past chair of the Immigration and Nationality Law Advisory Commission for the California State Bar. He is a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association.
