This form electronically enter your name into lottery for the Lawyers in the Library Program at the Sacramento County Public Law Library. Entering the lottery does NOT guarantee you an appointment. Our system will randomly draw names of those who have submitted an entry for the week’s LITL program. All submitted documents will be purged after each week’s lottery. Library users may receive two appointments per calendar year, with one from January to June, and one from July to December.

1. I am a Sacramento County resident, or have a case in Sacramento County Superior Court.
2. I do not have an attorney representing me for the issue I am asking for help with.
3. I confirm that I have not received more than one appointment between January to June, and again in July to December.
4. I understand that I must be present and ready at my appointment time. If I am not present, or have technical difficulties joining the Zoom, I forfeit my appointment. It will not be rescheduled.
5. I understand that there is no attorney-client relationship established through this program. The attorney I meet with is not my attorney, does not represent me, and cannot counsel me outside of this program. The attorney may speak with others involved in this case. There is no guarantee of confidentiality of my information or documents.
6. I understand that these are volunteer attorneys who may be unfamiliar with my particular legal issue, and may refer me to other resources for information.
7. I understand that my appointment will last no more than 20 minutes. The attorney may end the appointment earlier than 20 minutes if they feel the question has been answered.
8. If the attorney is already representing another party in my case, the attorney will tell me and discontinue my appointment. The attorney will inform the library to try to schedule my appointment with a different attorney on a different day.
9. I understand that my documents will not be retained or made available to me after my appointment .

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Sacramento County Public Law Library (“SCPLL”), its volunteers, partners, agents, and each of their respective employees, directors, and officers (collectively the “Lawyers in the Library Program”) provide this service “as-is” and “with all faults.” SCPLL and the Lawyers in the Library Program, jointly and severally, disclaim all representations, warranties, and express or implied conditions of any kind regarding the Lawyers in the Library Program including availability, reliability, quality, suitability, usefulness, or effectiveness of the information obtained, generated, or received from using this service. Users assume all risk in accessing this service. SPCLL and the Lawyers in the Library Program does not warrant that the service or digital resources used will be secure, accurate, complete, uninterrupted, without error, free of virus or worms, other harmful components, or other program limitations. Participants assume the entire costs of all necessary servicing, repair, or correction of problems caused unless such errors or viruses are the direct result of SCPLL’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.
