**UPDATE** Coronavirus (COVID-19) March 17, 2020 – 2:00PM (Tuesday)

Coronavirus/COVID-19 Legal Resources

Following the release of the new state and county guidelines on social distancing, the Law Library and Civil Self Help Center are closed from Tuesday March 17 until Monday April 6 (and possibly later).  All in person services, such as classes, Passport Applications and workshops, are not available

We are extending the loan period for books and materials already checked out to patrons.  At this time, please do not return books or materials to the Library or our book drop.

We are currently still providing reference and information service…

BY PHONE – At this time, patrons can call our Reference telephone number – 916-874-6012 – to receive basic legal reference assistance from approximately 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday.  Feel free to leave a voice mail, if we cannot answer the phone. We are unable to handle complex legal research queries.

BY EMAIL – Patrons may also send legal reference questions to reference@saclaw.org.  Again, we cannot answer complex legal research queries.  Our goal is to provide answers within 48 hours of receiving a question.

WEBSITE – Our Website provides a wide range of research information, step-by step guides, free videos, podcasts, and online MCLE classes.

DOCUMENT DELIVERY – Use our Document Delivery service to request legal documents via email.  Please request materials for which you have a citation.  We cannot do complex legal research to determine what document you need.

Please continue to check our website and Facebook page regularly for continued updates about the Law Library’s open hours and other service or status changes.

We encourage you to take care of your health, and to protect others by following the Centers for Disease Control’s and the California Department of Public Health’s recommendations for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.
