Demystifying The Bluebook
The fundamentals of The Bluebook aren’t that difficult. The challenge is avoiding the seemingly endless possible mistakes when citing authority. This course covers the essentials of Bluebooking — including case and statute citations, short cites, signals, and parentheticals — with an emphasis on avoiding the most common mistakes. The course also briefly covers auto generating a table of authority using Microsoft Word’s “mark citation” feature. The course is taught by a former UC Davis legal research & writing faculty member who spent five years catching his students’ Bluebook errors.
