Mary Clemente graduated from UCLA and received her law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law. She practiced family law exclusively in Santa Clara and Sacramento County prior to joining El Dorado County Department of Child Support Services (DCSS) as a child support attorney. She currently works for Sacramento County DCSS and has been active in the child support program for over fifteen years.
In addition to weekly court appearances, she manages a high-volume caseload of over 10,000 cases for Sacramento County, where she reviews, analyzes, researches, and presents legal issues and arguments, orally and in writing, regarding parentage, child support, arrearages, enforcement, workers compensation, QDROs, and contempt actions. She advises and trains internal staff with the goal of empowering families with a solid foundation to provide for the financial and medical needs of their children and to promote the self-sufficiency of families. She enjoys community outreach with local social services partners, such as the Family Law Facilitator’s office and court staff, the Federal Defender’s Office, WEAVE, My Sister’s House, Stand-Down, and with the family law bar.
