The Honorable Troy L. Nunley, U.S. District Judge, Eastern District of California, has served in that role since 2013, following his 2012 nomination by President Barack Obama. From San Francisco’s Hunter’s Point area, Judge Nunley graduated from Sacred Heart Cathedral High School in San Francisco. He holds a Bachelor’s degree from Saint Mary’s College of California (1986) and a law degree from UC Hastings College of the Law (1990). After two years in private practice and six years as a Deputy District Attorney (Alameda and Sacramento counties), he joined the Office of the Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General, serving from 1999 to 2002. Governor Gray Davis appointed Judge Nunley to the Sacramento Superior Court in 2002. Judge Nunley served as a Superior Court Judge until he joined the federal district court Sacramento in 2013.
