Hon. Christopher E. Krueger

Hon. Christopher E. Krueger is a judge in Department 54 for the Sacramento Superior Court. He was appointed by former Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, in 2010. He filled the vacancy created by the elevation of the Hon. Elena J. Duarte in the Court of Appeals.

Krueger is a registered Democrat.

Judge Krueger received his B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. He earned is JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

He worked as a legal research assistant for the San Francisco County Superior Court for one year beginning in 1994. He entered private practice and served as an associate at the law firm or Orrick, Herington and Sutcliffe for five years.

In 2000, Judge Krueger left the private arena to work as deputy attorney general for the California Department of Justice‘s office if the Attorney General. He would hold that position until promoted to serve as a senior assistant attorney general in 2007. Two years later, then former Governor Schwarzenegger appointed him to serve as chief deputy legal affairs secretary. He would remain in that capacity until his appointment to Sacramento Superior Court a year later.

White on the bench, Judge Krueger has presided over the Civil Law and Motion Department.

He has served as an instructor for the Sacramento County Public Law Library and served on the Library’s board of trustees, and as president of the board in 2022.
