Law 101

Finding Attorneys and Others

Locating a lawyer who is willing to handle your case can be challenging. There are a number of avenues you can pursue to locate the right attorney. Personal referrals can be a great starting point for finding an attorney. There are also numerous print and online directories that allow you to search for attorneys by practice area, location, and name. Fee-based referral services can be helpful, because they can tailor their referrals to your specific needs. There are also numerous organizations in the Sacramento area that provide hands-on assistance with a variety of legal matters.  Be sure to visit the Law 101 page on your topic, where you will find referrals to other organizations that specialize in those types of cases.

Throughout the course of a lawsuit, you will likely need to locate businesses, individuals, and experts. This page provides information and links for conducting those types of research.
